Our church put on a Christmas Play last year that we wanted to share with all churches looking for Christmas play ideas. Click here to go see the play!
A Message from the Author,
This Christmas play is to simply tell the biblical story of the good news of Christmas, which is God’s amazing plan of redemption for mankind through the giving of His One and Only Son, Jesus Christ.
The play takes you to different short stories in the Bible and emphasizes the following themes:
Man Needs A Savior (Adam & Eve)
God Prepares a Savior (Abraham & Isaac)
God Sends a Savior (Christmas Story)
Receiving the Savior (Simeon and Anna, Jesus’ Cruxifiction)
We performed this play last year at our church with the children of our Sunday School, grades Kindergarten to High School. Our choir provided special music throughout the play. It was very well received.
This play is suitable for church of various sizes, even small congregation like ours, we simply had more grades participate. It also didn’t take very long to practice, we practiced 2 Sundays before and the Sunday of the day of the program.
I hope you will enjoy performing the play and sharing the good news of God’s love, how He saved us and reconciled us to Himself through His son Jesus.
Although I share this play for free, without cost, I felt the prompting of the Lord to use the sharing of this play as a platform to highlight the ministry of Kusuma Paul, a faithful woman of God in India, who has been ministering under the radar to very poor children and orphans in her home town of Bapatla for almost 30 years. Please read her story and if you choose to use and perform this Christmas play, I ask you to donate generously to Reach Out ministry as a thank offering to the Lord. Please consider giving the offering from the first performance of this play to Reach Out.
Thank you. ~Leilin Hilde
